Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) Calculator
Calculate your APFT score based on your age, gender, push-ups, sit-ups, and 2-mile run time.
Understanding the APFT
While the US Army has officially transitioned to the newer Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT), the APFT is still widely referenced and used for historical benchmarking, ROTC, and allied military forces.
Scoring System
The APFT consists of three events: push-ups, sit-ups, and a 2-mile run. Each event is scored on a scale from 0 to 100 based on age and gender brackets. To pass, a soldier must score a minimum of 60 points in every single event.
Worked Example
- Male, Age 25
- Push-ups: 50 -> Points based on standard tables
- Sit-ups: 60 -> Points based on standard tables
- Run Time: 14:30 -> Points based on standard tables
- Total Score = Sum of all three events.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum score?
The maximum standard score is 300 points (100 in each event). Extended scale scores exist for soldiers who perform beyond the 100-point threshold. These are estimates and may not reflect actual values. Always verify important calculations independently.
