Lumens to Watts Converter
Estimate the power usage (Watts) of a light bulb based on its brightness (Lumens).
Brightness vs Power
In the past, we bought bulbs based on Watts. But Watts measure electricity consumed, not brightness! Today, we buy bulbs based on Lumens, which directly measure visible light output.
Luminous Efficacy
Different technologies produce light more efficiently. An old incandescent bulb produces about 15 lumens per watt. A modern LED produces 90 or more lumens per watt, saving massive amounts of energy.
